Experience the richness of fibre techniques used to weave carpets & kilims, see felt in authentic surroundings or be entranced by the beauty of Turkish traditional textiles & fabrics.The tours begin in Istanbul a 2010 Cultural Capital of Europe,the place where Asia & Europe collide & where numerous civilizations have left their footprint.We visit museums to thrill any follower of textiles,bazaars to excite all your senses,spectacular historical ruins , villages left in a time warp and workshops managed by local experts in various regions famous for their particular techniques & expertise.

One or two week tours

Depending on your choice of a one or two week tour,you are able to learn how to tie turkish carpet knots,
produce your own unique felted piece or endeavour to master the delicate intracies of needlelace.
On the way you will be whisked along as if you're on your own magic carpet arriving at places to sample
slow food and see slow textiles.Frances has been part of Turkey for 30years and will be there with you all
the way to share her extensive local knowledge .
