Macclesfield Museum has 11th hour reprieve
Lobbying from local residents , including Brenda King, Chair of the Textile Society, Elizabeth Brimelow, internationally renowned textile artist and Margaret Waring of the Embroiderers Guild was successful. Brenda reports that Cheshire East Council were clearly impressed by the nationally respected nature of the Society, which give a wider dimension to the argument for keeping the building open.
"We will still keep our eye on the situation and will not let up our vigilance. This is too important" said Brenda King.
