Visit the private commercial archive and design studio owned by Cheryl O’Meara, originated in New York’s garment district.

The collection comprises over 50,000 individual swatches of antique wallpaper and textiles and offers inspiration to many fashion and home brands including Alexander McQueen and most High Street names. Cheryl is also a textile designer and will talk about the history of textile design and its methods from the 20th century to modern CAD design.

You will learn how industry artists would create repeats and you can have a go at doing this yourself the old-fashioned way. Don’t worry, no experience necessary! We will look at how design has changed today and have a demonstration of how an antique fabric becomes a digitally printed one.

Tea and cake provided.
