SOFT ENGINEERING: Textiles Taking Shape

Deirdre Wood, Ann Richards, Alison Ellen

Wed 17th January 2018
11.30 am

Winchester Discovery Centre, Jewry St, Winchester SO23 8SB

This innovative exhibition will display the work of weavers Ann Richards and Deirdre Wood and knitter Alison Ellen. It is about exploration, creative potential and serendipity and what happens when the three come together. Central to the show is that shape can spontaneously emerge from the interplay of raw materials and structure. Each artist will give a 20-minute talk in the gallery. Deirdre has kindly offered a visit to her studio, a 5 min walk to those interested.

Why not spend the afternoon in Winchester looking at the Cathedral, the museum, Winchester College museum or the Jane Austen centre. www.winchestercollege.org/treasury
