Join us at in London for ‘Research Strategies V ‘which will open your eyes and mind to new ideas, unexplored areas, and fresh questions across the broad field of textiles.
Our speakers will reveal an interesting range of research methodologies, including different uses of archives combined with: education, collecting, material culture and museology as inspiration for fine art practice. Find out more about social history and domestic training (learning to sew) in a House of Refuge in the 18th century and an in-depth study of silk ribbon collections. Discover how the tangible and intangible inform each other when emotional experiences are designed into jacquard woven textiles using digital coding.
