TEXTILE SOCIETY EVENT

This event is a unique opportunity for delegates to engage first-hand with the history and material of shifu – the endangered art of weaving with kozo mulberry paper.

The Textile Society welcomes Mrs Kazuko Sato and her interpreter to the UK. Now, at 91 years of age, and with personal memories of Soetsu Yanagi and key figures in the Mingei Movement, Kazuko Sato is the embodiment of the Japanese art of shifu.

Inclusive of afternoon tea, this event will take place in the Clore Space of the Garden Museum, London, located alongside the Courtyard Garden designed by Dan Pearson.

Textile Society Members £35
Non-members £40
Tickets inclusive of afternoon tea
